Volitra Plus Gel 50 gm is a combination of six drugs: Diclofenac diethylamine, Capsaicin, Methyl salicylate, Linseed oil, Benzyl alcohol, and Menthol. Diclofenac diethylamine and Methyl salicylate are pain killers which work by blocking the effect of a chemical messenger known as cyclo-oxygenase (COX) enzymes that make another chemical prostaglandin (PG). By blocking the COX enzyme's effect, lesser PGs are produced, which reduces mild to moderate pain and inflammation at the injured or damaged site. Capsaicin is a natural extract of chilli pepper that works by blocking the pain messengers to the nerves. Linseed oil possesses an anti-inflammatory agent that inhibits inflammatory mediators like leukotrienes (LK), reducing inflammation. On the other hand, Menthol and Benzyl alcohol are soothing and cooling agents which provide a cooling sensation by dilating the blood vessels, followed by an analgesic effect. It also enhances the penetration of drugs. Together, Volitra Plus Gel 50 gm helps provide relief from mild to moderate pain in various musculoskeletal and joint conditions.
