Xputum Paed Syrup is taken with or without food in a dose and duration as advised by the doctor. The dose you are given will depend on your condition and how you respond to the medicine. You should keep taking this medicine for as long as your doctor recommends. If you stop treatment too early your symptoms may come back and your condition may worsen. Let your doctor know about all other medications you are taking as some may affect, or be affected by this medicine.The most common side effects are nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, stomach discomfort, headache, rash, tremor, and increased heart rate. Most of these are temporary and usually resolve with time. Contact your doctor straight away if you are at all concerned about any of these side effects. This medicine can also cause sleepiness, so do not drive or do anything that requires mental focus until you know how this medicine affects you. Avoid drinking alcohol while taking this medicine as it can make sleepiness worse.
Xputum Paed Syrup effectively treats wet cough (cough with mucus) in children. It helps in thinning the mucus by increasing its water content. This relieves throat irritation and clears congestion, enabling easy breathing in your child.
Bioavailability of ambroxol administered orally is approximately 70–80%. The distribution half-life of ambroxol is 1.3 hours, metabolite is dibromoanthranilic acid (activity unspecified) and Elimination of ambroxol is biphasic, with an alpha half-life of 1.3 hours and a beta half-life of 8.8 hours.Guaifenesin is administered orally. The plasma half-life is approximately 1 hour. Guiafenesin is rapidly hydrolyzed (60% within seven hours) and then excreted in the urine, with beta-(2-methoxyphenoxy)-lactic acid as its major urinary metabolite. No unchanged drug was detected in the urine following administration.Menthol is a selective activator of transient receptor potential melastatin-8 (TRPM8) channels and is also a vasoactive compound. As a topical agent, it acts as a counter-irritant by imparting a cooling effect and by initially stimulating nociceptors and then desensitizing them.The pharmacokinetics of terbutaline has been studied after subcutaneous adminsitration of a therapeutic dose of 250 microgram in 14 patients. Short absorption half-lives of about 7 min resulted in a fast uptake of the drug.

Intrauterine foetal death
Placenta praevia

Ambroxol+Guaifenesin+Menthol+Terbutaline is used in the treatment of cough.Ambroxol is a mucolytic which thins and loosens mucus (phlegm), making it easier to cough out. Guaifenesin is an expectorant which works by decreasing the stickiness of airway secretions and helps in their removal from the airways. Menthol is an organic compound which produces a sensation of coolness and relieves minor throat irritation. Terbutaline is a bronchodilator which relaxs the muscles in the airways and widens the airways.Together, they make breathing easier.
If you use other drugs or over the counter products at the same time, the effects of Xputum Paed Syrup may change. This may increase your risk for side-effects or cause your drug not to work properly. Tell your doctor about all the drugs, vitamins, and herbal supplements you are using, so that you doctor can help you prevent or manage drug interactions. Xputum Paed Syrup may interact with the following drugs and products:

If you miss a dose of Xputum Paed Syrup, skip it and continue with your normal schedule.Do not double the dose.
