If any of these side effects bother you or do not go away with time, you should let your doctor know. Your doctor may help you with ways to reduce or prevent the side effects.The medicine may not be suitable for everybody. Before taking it, let your doctor know if you have any problems with your heart, kidneys, liver, or have stomach ulcers. Xymepill DS Tablet is a combination of four medicines: Trypsin, Bromelain, Rutoside and Diclofenac. This medication helps in relieving pain and swelling (inflammation). It works by lowering the levels of those chemical substances in the body which cause pain and swelling (inflammation).
Trypsin is a serine protease that plays an essential role in protein hydrolysis and absorption in mammals. When converted from its zymogen trypsinogen, trypsin is available as an active peptide hydrolase (EC 3.4. 21.4) form to cleave peptide chains, mainly at the carboxyl side of the amino acids lysine or arginine.Depending on the surface area and depth of the wound, bromelain blood serum concentrations of no more than 40 µg/ml are expected, with peak concentrations reached after 2 to 4 hours. The terminal half-life varied between 8.5 and 19.9 hours in studies.Rutoside is a natural flavone derivative. It has anti- inflammatory, anti-allergy and immunomodulating activity 20. Rutoside inhibits platelet aggregation, as well as decreasing capillary permeability, making the blood thinner and improving circulation. Rutin also strengthens the capillaries.Diclofenac binds extensively to plasma albumin. The area under the plasma concentration-time curve (AUC) of diclofenac is proportional to the dose for oral doses between 25 to 150 mg. Substantial concentrations of drug are attained in synovial fluid, which is the proposed site of action for NSAIDs.

Trypsin+Bromelain+Rutoside+Diclofenac is used for pain relief.Trypsin and Bromelain are enzymes. They increase blood supply and make the body produce substances that fight pain and swelling. Rutoside is an antioxidant which protects the body from damage by chemicals (free radicals) and further reduces swelling. Diclofenac is a non-steroidal antiinflammatory drug (NSAID) which works by blocking the release of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) in the brain that cause pain and inflammation (redness and swelling).
If you use other drugs or over the counter products at the same time, the effects of Xymepill DS Tablet may change. This may increase your risk for side-effects or cause your drug not to work properly. Tell your doctor about all the drugs, vitamins, and herbal supplements you are using, so that you doctor can help you prevent or manage drug interactions. Xymepill DS Tablet may interact with the following drugs and products:

If you miss a dose of Xymepill DS Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

Xymepill DS Tablet helps relieve pain and inflammation that may occur due to trauma, surgery or everyday activity.
It may also be used to relieve inflammation in rheumatic and degenerative conditions, such as rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis.

It may increase the severity of your condition at the start of treatment. Continue using it as prescribed by your doctor.
It may cause dizziness and blurred vision. Do not drive or do anything requiring concentration until you know how it affects you.

The use of Xymepill DS Tablet is considered to be harmful for patients with known allergy to painkillers (NSAIDs) or any of the components or excipients of this medicine. The use of this medicine should preferably be avoided in patients with a history of stomach ulcers or in patients with active, recurrent stomach ulcer / bleeding. It should also be avoided in patients with history of heart failure, high blood pressure, and liver or kidney disease.

No, taking a higher than the recommended dose of Xymepill DS Tablet can increase the risk of side effects like nausea, vomiting, heartburn, indigestion, diarrhea and can also damage your kidneys on long-term use. If you are experiencing increased severity of pain and swelling which is not relieved by the recommended doses of this medicine, please consult your doctor for re-evaluation.

Keep this medicine in the container or the pack it came in, tightly closed. Store it according to the instructions mentioned on the pack or label. Dispose of the unused medicine. Make sure it is not consumed by pets, children and other people.

Xymepill DS Tablet is usually used for short term and can be discontinued when pain and swelling are relieved. However, Xymepill DS Tablet should be continued if the doctor has advised you to do so.

Yes, the use of Xymepill DS Tablet can cause nausea and vomiting. Taking it with milk, food or with antacids can prevent nausea. Avoid taking fatty or fried foods along with this medicine. In case of vomiting, drink plenty of water or other fluids by taking small frequent sips. Talk to your doctor if vomiting persists and you notice signs of dehydration, like dark colored and strong-smelling urine and a low frequency of urination. Do not take any other medicine without speaking to a doctor.
