Zaltokin 80mg Tablet is used to relieve pain and treat fever. It alleviates pain and inflammation in conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, osteoarthritis, and gout. It may also be used to relieve muscle pain, joint pain, headache, toothache, and menstrual cramps.
Zaltokin 80mg Tablet may be taken with or without food. In general, you should try to use the smallest amount necessary to control your symptoms, for the shortest possible time. You should take this medicine regularly while you need it. Try not to miss doses as it will become less effective if you do.
The common side effects of this medicine include vomiting, nausea, indigestion, and heartburn. If any of these side effects do not resolve with time or get worse, you should let your doctor know. Your doctor may be able to suggest ways of preventing or reducing the symptoms.
This medicine is generally considered safe but is not suitable for everybody. Before you take it, you should tell your doctor if you have kidney problems, asthma, blood disorders, or drink a lot of alcohol. Also, tell your doctor what other medicines you are taking to make sure you are safe. It is best to avoid drinking alcohol while using this medicine.
The main mechanism of zaltoprofen is prostaglandin biosynthesis inhibitory action due to the COX inhibition in the arachidonic acid metabolism system. Besides this, membrane stabilizing action such as leukocyte migration inhibitory action and lysosomal enzyme inhibitory action are also observed with zaltoprofen
Zaltoprofen displays linear pharmacokinetics in the dose range of 80 to 240 mg after single oral doses. The compound is rapidly absorbed and cleared from plasma, which supports the use of zaltoprofen for a 3 times daily dose regimen. Zaltoprofen was not accumulated in the human body

Zaltoprofen should not be given to patients with: Peptic ulcer with or without a rupture in the gastrointestinal tract as the NSAID group causes gastrointestinal bleeding. Cardiovascular disease as some cardiovascular deaths have been noted with some NSAIDs

The risk or severity of gastrointestinal bleeding can be increased when Amitriptyline is combined with Zaltoprofen. The risk or severity of gastrointestinal bleeding can be increased when Amitriptylinoxide is combined with Zaltoprofen. Zaltoprofen may decrease the antihypertensive activities of Amlodipine
Do not chew, crush or break it. Zaltokin 80mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
Avoid Zaltokin 80mg Tablet with Vitamin K rich food such as spinach, collards, broccoli, spring onions, cucumber and dried basil.
Store below 30°C
If you miss a dose of Zaltokin 80mg Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

Take it with food or milk to prevent upset stomach.
Take it as per the dose and duration prescribed by your doctor. Long term use may lead to serious complications such as stomach bleeding and kidney problems.
Do not take indigestion remedies (antacids) within two hours of taking Zaltokin 80mg Tablet.
Avoid consuming alcohol while taking Zaltokin 80mg Tablet as it can increase your risk of stomach problems.
Inform your doctor if you have a history of heart disease or stroke.
Your doctor may regularly monitor your kidney function, liver function and levels of blood components if you are taking this medicine for long-term treatment.
