Zerelin 5mg Injection is a hormone similar to the one produced by a hypothalmus gland in the brain. It works by decreasing the blood levels of testosterone in males.
Buserelin is ineffective via oral administration due to first-pass metabolism in the gastrointestinal tract. Its bioavailability is 2.5 to 3.3% by intranasal administration and 70% by subcutaneous injection. The plasma protein binding of buserelin is approximately 15%.

Get medical help right away if you have signs of allergic reaction such as difficulty breathing, rash, hives, itching, and blisters. Also, let your doctor know if you experience severe headache, chest pain, fast/irregular heartbeat, severe dizziness, vision changes, and severe vomiting.
Q. What is a tumor flare reaction (TFR)? Can I experience a TFR while on treatment with Zerelin 5mg Injection?
A tumor flare reaction is a sudden and an increase in the size of cancer as well as its symptoms. Yes, you might notice a TFR while taking Zerelin 5mg Injection and experience an increase in symptoms of prostate cancer such as blood in urine, painful or difficult urination, sudden back or trunk pain, or weakness in your legs, especially during the first month of the treatment. It is temporary and symptoms reduce gradually as treatment progresses. Talk to your doctor immediately if it does not.
