Zoderm E Cream should be used in the dose and duration as prescribed by your doctor. This medicine should be used regularly to get the most benefit from it. Do not use more than you need, it will not clear your condition faster and may only increase the side effects. Skin infections will usually get better after 2 to 4 weeks. Do not use the cream for longer than your doctor has told you to and let him or her know if your condition does not improve after 2 to 4 weeks of treatment. The effects of the medicine can be increased by keeping the affected area clean and dry, and washing hands before and after treating the infection. If you have athlete’s foot, wash your socks or tights thoroughly and change your shoes daily if possible.
The most common side effects of using this cream include a burning sensation and irritation, dryness, peeling, or blistering of the skin. Occasionally it can cause thinning of your hair. These are not usually serious, but you should call your doctor if you think you might have a severe allergic reaction. Signs of this include rash, swelling of the lips, throat, or face, swallowing or breathing problems, feeling dizzy or faint, and nausea. Get emergency help if this happens. Avoid direct contact with your eyes. In case of direct contact, wash your eyes with water and seek immediate medical attention.
It is not likely that other medicines you take by mouth or injection will affect the way this medicine works, but talk to your doctor before using it if you have recently used another medicine that contains a steroid or had an allergic reaction to another antifungal medicine. This medicine should only be used if it is clearly needed if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Ask your doctor if it is safe.
Zoderm E Cream is an antifungal medication. It kills and stops the growth of the fungi by destroying its cell membrane, thereby treating your skin infection.
Topical oxiconazole is rapidly absorbed into the stratum corneum. Fungicidal concentrations of oxiconazole are found in the epidermis within 5 hours of topical application, and reach maximum concentrations as early as 100 minutes following application.
Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them

Oxiconazole contraindicated in individuals who have shown hypersensitivity to any of their components. Allergic skin inflammation, pruritus, burning, cracks in the skin, raised skin eruptions similar to those of chickenpox.
Zoderm E Cream is generally considered safe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effects to the developing baby; however, there are limited human studies.

The baby's skin should not come into direct contact with the treated area of skin. Water-miscible cream/gel is preferred as ointments may expose the baby to harmful effects of Zoderm E Cream via licking.
Oxiconazole nitrate cream is indicated for the topical treatment of the following dermal infections: tinea pedis, tinea cruris, and tinea corporis due to Trichophyton rubrum, Trichophyton mentagrophytes, or Epidermophyton floccosum.

If you miss a dose of Zoderm E Cream, apply it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

Some tips for personal hygiene:
Wash your hands with soap before and after applying the cream.
Do not share your towel or clothes with anyone.
Wear clean clothes every day to prevent infection.
Finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better.
It can take a few weeks for the infection to clear and a few months before the skin returns to its normal color.
It is not taken orally, so it does not cause many side effects.
Apply an amount sufficient to cover the affected area and 1 inch of the immediate surrounding skin.
Avoid getting it in the eyes, nose, or mouth. If accidental exposure occurs, rinse immediately with plenty of water.
Inform your doctor if the infection has not cleared up after four weeks of treatment.

The duration of the treatment depends on the type of infection. In general, the treatment is continued for 1 month for tinea infection and at least 15 days for candida infection. Do not stop the treatment on your own even if you feel better because the infection may come back as it takes some time to kill the fungus completely.

Always thoroughly wash your hands before and after applying Zoderm E Cream. If the feet are infected, they should be washed and dried thoroughly, especially between the toes, before applying Zoderm E Cream. It should be applied to form a thin and uniform layer onto the affected areas daily and should be rubbed in gently.
Q. Is Zoderm E Cream safe to use in children?
Zoderm E Cream is safe for use in children provided it is used in the recommended doses for the recommended period of time. Minor side effects may occur but usually they do not become bothersome. However, if you develop a burning sensation or areas of severe redness, itching, then stop the medicine and contact your doctor.
Q. What measures should be taken for a fast recovery?
Keep the affected skin areas clean and dry and avoid excessive rubbing. The itchiness may give you an urge to scratch but avoid scratching as it will damage the surface of skin, spreading the infection further. Do not share towels, bath mats, etc. with other people as you could spread the infection to them.
