Zoxil 500mg Tablet may be taken with or without food. You should take it regularly at evenly spaced intervals as per the schedule prescribed by your doctor. Taking it at the same time every day will help you to remember to take it. The dose will depend on what you are being treated for, but you should always complete a full course of this antibiotic as prescribed by your doctor. Do not stop taking it until you have finished, even when you feel better. If you stop taking it early, some bacteria may survive and the infection may come back. It will not work for viral infections such as flu or the common cold. Using any antibiotic when you do not need it can make it less effective for future infections.
Zoxil 500mg Tablet is an antibiotic medicine that works by killing the infection-causing bacteria in your body. It is effective for bacterial infections of the throat, ears, urinary tract, skin, and soft tissues.
Cefadroxil is almost completely absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract. After doses of 500 mg and 1 g by mouth, peak plasma concentrations of about 16 and 30 micrograms/ml, respectively, are obtained after 1.5 to 2.0 hours.
Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them

Cefadroxil is contraindicated in patients with cephalosporin hypersensitivity or cephamycin hypersensitivity. Cefadroxil should be used cautiously in patients with hypersensitivity to penicillin. The structural similarity between cefadroxil and penicillin means cross-reactivity can occur.
Zoxil 500mg Tablet is generally considered safe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effects to the developing baby; however, there are limited human studies.
Consuming alcohol with Zoxil 500mg Tablet does not cause any harmful side effects.
Zoxil 500mg Tablet is safe to use during breastfeeding. Human studies suggest that the drug does not pass into the breastmilk in a significant amount and is not harmful to the baby.
(cefadroxil) is indicated for the treatment of patients with infection caused by susceptible strains of the designated organisms in the following diseases: Urinary tract infections caused by E. coli; P. mirabilis, and Klebsiella species.

If you miss a dose of Zoxil 500mg Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

No, do not stop taking Zoxil 500mg Tablet and complete the full course of treatment even if you feel better. Your symptoms may improve before the infection is completely cured.
