Zuvair 20mg Tablet is a medicine used for the treatment and prevention of asthma. It reduces inflammation in the airways and makes breathing easier.
Zuvair 20mg Tablet should be taken on an empty stomach, but take it at the same time to get the most benefit. It is advised to have it 2 hours before exercise if you have exercise-induced asthma. It should be taken as your doctor's advice. The dose and how often you take it depends on what you are taking it for. Your doctor will decide how much you need to improve your symptoms. Swallow the tablets whole with a drink of water. You should take this medicine for as long as it is prescribed for you. It does not cure sudden breathing problems, so always carry a medicated inhaler with you.
The most common side effects of this medicine include headache, infection, nausea, and diarrhea. If these bother you or appear serious, let your doctor know. There may be ways of reducing or preventing them. Generally, you should avoid alcohol while taking this medicine.
Before taking this medicine, you should tell your doctor if you have ever had severe liver problems. Your doctor should also know about all other medicines you are taking as many of these may make this medicine less effective or change the way it works. You must inform your doctor about pregnancy or breastfeeding.
Zafirlukast is used to prevent asthma symptoms. Zafirlukast is in a class of medications called leukotriene receptor antagonists (LTRAs). It works by blocking the action of certain natural substances that cause swelling and tightening of the airways
The pharmacokinetics of zafirlukast are best described by a two-compartment model. Maximum plasma concentrations (Cmax) were achieved 3 hours after a single oral dose of 20 or 40 mg to healthy volunteers. The absolute bioavailability of zafirlukast is unknown

Zuvair 20mg Tablet is generally considered safe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effects to the developing baby; however, there are limited human studies.
It is not known whether it is safe to consume alcohol with Zuvair 20mg Tablet. Please consult your doctor.
Zuvair 20mg Tablet is probably unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug may pass into the breastmilk and harm the baby.
Asthma. Indicated for chronic asthma treatment and prophylaxis. 20 mg PO twice daily.
Administration. Take at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after meals. Take at regular intervals.
Hepatic Impairment. Contraindicated.
Renal Impairment. Dose adjustment not necessary

Do not chew, crush or break it. Zuvair 20mg Tablet is to be taken empty stomach.
Store below 30°C
If you miss a dose of Zuvair 20mg Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
Consult a doctor before taking any medicines
You have been prescribed Zuvair 20mg Tablet for asthma prevention and for the treatment of allergy symptoms such as sneezing and runny nose.
Take it on an empty stomach at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after meals.
It is a relatively safe medicine with very few side effects.
Take Zuvair 20mg Tablet 2 hours before exercising if you have exercise-induced asthma.
It does not work right away and should not be used to relieve sudden breathing problems. Use your rescue inhaler to control sudden difficulty in breathing.
Do not discontinue use without consulting your doctor, even if you feel better.
